The Esthetics program prepares students for licensure as an esthetician in North Carolina. Students receive comprehensive training in skincare treatments, facials, hair removal, makeup application, sanitation, infection control, and client consultation. Instruction combines classroom theory with hands-on clinical experience under instructor supervision. Upon successful completion of 624 clock hours, graduates are eligible to apply for the North Carolina State Board licensing examination.

Upon completion of the program, students will be able to:

  1. Demonstrate proper sanitation, disinfection, and infection control procedures in accordance with NC Board regulations.
  2. Perform professional facial treatments tailored to individual skin types and conditions.
  3. Conduct client consultations and analyze skin conditions accurately.
  4. Perform hair removal services including waxing and tweezing.
  5. Apply makeup for corrective and special occasion purposes.
  6. Demonstrate knowledge of product chemistry and ingredient function.
  7. Practice professional ethics, communication, and customer service.
  8. Apply North Carolina cosmetology laws and regulations in a clinical setting.
  9. Prepare for and successfully complete the NC State Board written and practical examinations.

Applicants must:

  1. Be at least 16 years of age (or as required by state regulations)
  2. Provide proof of High School Diploma, GED, or recognized equivalent
  3. Complete institutional enrollment requirements
  4. Submit a program application
  5. Attend a Mandatory program orientation
