Barbering Licensing Program

   
The Barbering Licensing Program provides comprehensive training in the theory and practice of professional barbering. This 1,540-hour program prepares students to meet the requirements of the North Carolina Board of Barber Examiners and to sit for the state licensure examination.

Students gain hands-on experience in a supervised clinical setting while developing the technical skills, professionalism, and business knowledge required for success in the barbering industry.

Graduates will be able to:

• Perform professional haircuts using modern and traditional techniques
• Execute shaving, beard design, and grooming services
• Apply chemical services safely and effectively
• Demonstrate infection control and sanitation procedures
• Understand North Carolina barber laws and regulations
• Provide professional client consultation and customer service
• Operate within ethical and professional standards
• Prepare for and successfully complete the state licensing exam
