Course Description

This course will provide participants with a basic understanding of Recruitment and Selection functions. It is designed to assist participants with “how to” skills and resources to assess their company’s employment need and to implement the necessary components to achieve that need.

Learner Outcomes

At the completion of class, participants will be able to:

  • Write position specifications, job descriptions, job advertisements, set salary for positions and screen applications.
  • Develop selection processes such as interviews, role-plays, and other human resources activities to identify/select the best candidate.
  • Develop questions and rating tools for the selection process.
  • Understand the application of employment law as related to recruitment, selection, and hire.
  • Be a resource for managers and other internal customers in the application of company policies and procedures related to recruitment, selection, and hire.
  • Identify and access employment resources (i.e. outsourcing services, automating services, tracking process, compensation studies, etc.)
