TRA-CDL7210 - Commercial Truck Class "A" (CDLA) Test

Course Description

This course is designed to refresh students that already have complete understanding of how to drive tractor-trailers and trucks. The program will include a small refresher and road test. Students are required to obtain a CDL permit, DOT Medical Card and a DOT drug screen once class begins. These documents are required prior to course registration.

Course Outline

The students may receive refresher on the following:

Pre-trip inspection

What makes a vehicle road worthy

Shifting gears

Inclines

Backing at various angles (90 and 45 degrees)

Straight backing

Coupling and uncoupling of trailers

Over the road driving

Post-trip inspections

Testing will take place after course refresher.

Notes

Method of instruction: Lab including vehicle driving and testing.

Evaluation: exam with a test score of 80 or better, demonstration of skills and class participation.
