Course Description
CAKE DECORATING PACKAGE, LEARN MORE FOR LESS!!!
The cake decorating package is the combination of three classes: “Decorating Basics,” “Flowers and Cake Design” and “Fondant and Gum Paste.” The student will acquire the knowledge of art using icing or frosting and other edible decorative foods to improve the keeping qualities of cake, contribute flavor and richness, and most importantly add visual appeal. Course Outline
Learn cake decorating using a variety of decorating tips, buttercream techniques, royal icing and how to work with fondant and gum paste.
1. Decorating Basics using food coloring, brush embroidery techniques and cake toppers,
2. Flowers and Cake Design: Design consisting of common cakes, icing pairings, themed cake designs and the aesthetic appeal of different types of cake designs. Learn basic decorating skills using food coloring, brush embroidery techniques and cake topper. Develop and practice piping basket weaves, ruffles, lace, latticework and messages on cakes
3. Fondant and Gum Paste: Develop basic skills such as preparing sheets of fondant and draping them over cakes. You'll learn to create, cut out and inlay designs, as well as learning how to use them appropriately to achieve a desired effect. Sculpting and molding decorative pieces using fondant and gum paste
Learner Outcomes
1. Acquire skills and techniques for decorating cakes using a pastry bag with a variety of tips.
2. Create professional-looking flowers and designs made from royal icing.
3. Learn to work with fondant and gum paste, from covering your cakes to cutting shapes and painting on fondant.
