Course Description

Cloud computing is revolutionizing the IT industry, creating constant demand for skilled professionals who can help organizations leverage cloud technology for scalability, agility, and cost-effectiveness—all while ensuring security and reliability. The CompTIA Cloud+ certification prepares you to excel in this dynamic field by providing comprehensive, performance-based training that applies across multiple cloud environments. As the only cloud certification approved for DoD, it validates your expertise in managing and optimizing cloud systems.

This blended learning class combines instructor-led coaching with self-paced online modules, requiring at least five hours of self-directed study per week. To succeed, participants should have prior knowledge equivalent to CompTIA Network+ and Server+ certifications. Take the next step in your IT career with CompTIA Cloud+ and become an essential part of the cloud revolution.

Notes

Target Audience:

CompTIA Cloud+ is considered an intermediate-level certification, and while it's accessible to beginners, it's often pursued by individuals who have some prior IT experience or knowledge. It provides a comprehensive understanding of cloud technologies and is relevant to a wide range of IT professionals looking to work effectively in cloud-related roles or enhance their cloud expertise.

Occupational Outlook:

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) forecast that cloud computing employment opportunities will grow by 15 percent in the ten years between 2021 and 2031. This growth rate is considerably faster than the average for other occupations. This impressive growth is driven by factors such as businesses’ rising cloud migration rate and the increasing demand for more effective and efficient methods for storing, managing, and analyzing data.

Information Technology Continuing Education Certificate:

A certificate of completion for the class will be issued to participants with at least 80% attendance, class participation, and completion of hands-on practice and projects.

Industry Certification:

With a CompTIA Cloud+ certification, you'll be prepared for roles such as Solution Architect, Cloud Systems Administrator, Cloud Specialist, Server Administrator, Cloud Architect, Cloud Engineer, Cloud Penetration Tester, and Cloud Security Specialist.

Method of Instruction:

Lecture with demonstration, discussion, hands-on exercises, and problem-solving. May have outside assignments.

Evaluation:

Participation in class discussions and completion of skill practices in and outside of the classroom is expected.

Prerequisites

  • NET-ITS7512 CompTIA Network+
  • CompTIA Server+

The above classes can be overridden based on evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience.

Resources: Access to a Windows-based computer and reliable internet is required as well as a camera, a headset, and preferably dual monitors.
