SEF-LAN7503 - Applied Spanish Review for Levels: Beginning, 2 and 3
Course Description
This is an intense six-week course designed for students with pre-existing, basic proficiency in the use of all types of Spanish verbs in the present tense: regular, irregular, and reflexive. It is not intended to replace initial instruction, but to provide practical application opportunities. Students will be required to review select thematic vocabulary and related verbs prior to arriving to class each week. The 2-hour class will be divided into segments:1. Review of verb conjugation
2. Written exercises
3. Verb conjugation games
4. Thematic practical application with select verbs:
● asking and answering questions, group discussions, creative writing, role-plays, games, etc.

Week 1Verbs and vocabulary related to: talking about friends and family
Week 2
Verbs and vocabulary related to: talking about daily household routines
Week 3
Verbs and vocabulary related to: talking about various sites and related activities around town
Week 4
Verbs and vocabulary related to: visiting the doctor
Week 5
Verbs and vocabulary related to: eating in a restaurant
Week 6
Verbs and vocabulary related to: going on vacation
Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:• Demonstrate proficient knowledge of present tense verbs in reading and writing
• Express basic thoughts in the present tense using present tense verbs in conversation

Review the meaning and conjugations of that week’s assigned vocabulary prior to coming to class
Participate fully during class
Work on individual and/or group assignments as instructed
