Course Description

This is a full day of education and hands on aspects for Family & Consumer Science Educators of District 6.  There will be numerous departments and services with CPCC offering information throughout different breakout sessions.  All attendees will get detailed information on how each department is structured and how they align with high school programs.   Attendees will also be able to experience hands on portions with each session to increase knowledge of each subject. 

Course Outline

• 8:00am - 8:20am > Breakfast/Networking

• 8:20am - 8:50am > Welcome/Introductions/Daily Agenda

• 9:00am - 10:30am > Breakout Session 1

• 10:30am - 10:45am > Break 

• 10:45am - 12:15pm > Breakout Session 2

• 12:15pm - 1:00pm > Lunch

• 1:00pm - 2:30pm > Breakout Session 3

• 2:30pm - 2:45pm > Break

• 2:45pm - 4:15pm > Breakout Session 4

• 4:20pm - 4:45pm > Recap/Conclusion

Learner Outcomes

• Become more knowledge of CPCC's programs that align with FCS courses.

• To Be able to utilize some of the topics/demos learned in your personal classrooms.

• To be able to provide information to high school students interested in CPCC.

• Become a liaison between the individual programs and high school students.

• Create a network between FCS and CPCC.

Notes

 Required Materials

• Pen & Paper for Note Taking

• Close toes shoes (and slip resistant if available) for the kitchen portion.

 

Student Responsibilities

• Be open minded and participate.

• Take all the notes you possible can.

• Make connections and ask questions.
