Course Description

This course will provide instruction in academic skills for non-native speakers of English. Emphasis is placed on specific reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills needed for the TOEFL. 

Course Outline

Emphasis is placed on the following needed for the TOEFL:

  • Specific reading skills
  • Writing skills
  • Listening skills
  • Speaking skills 

Learner Outcomes

To improve academic skills in English necessary for the TOEFL and to improve test-taking skills and confidence.

Notes

Students must complete 80% of class work and homework and attend 80% of the class time to receive a Satisfactory.
