Course Description

Course III is designed to develop the French language background and skills, oral and written, up to intermediate level. This Course will further build on the foundations laid during Course II or any other equivalent course or any real live experiences acquired during residence or work in a French-speaking environment.

Course Outline

In this course, students will review:
  • regular verbs
  • common irregular verbs
  • the imperative mood
  • reflexive verbs
  • the passé composé.

They'll be introduced:

  • to the imparfait
  • future tenses.

Students will continue to build vocabulary

  • through games
  • conversations
  •  fun activities in class. 

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, students will be able to: 
•    interact more safely and comfortably in a French-speaking environment
•    acquire greater command of the French grammar and structure
•    further enhance their acquaintance with geographic, historical, political, recreational, societal aspects about France and the French
•    navigate more comfortably through the French-language media (Written Press, TV, Internet) 
 

Prerequisites

A strong knowledge of basic French

Method of instruction:  Lecture, discussion, class participation. We'll also have one movie night and one French food night!
