Course Description
This course is designed for students with little or no exposure to the Spanish language, or those who have not studied Spanish in many years. Students will be introduced to fundamental grammar and business vocabulary and phrases, as well as cultural aspects of conducting business in a Spanish-speaking country.Course Outline

Week 8 - 11 (Meetings)

Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to:- Demonstrate knowledge of syntax of language: number and gender of nouns; the use and placement of articles and basic adjectives; interrogative words; cardinal and ordinal numbers; days, months, dates; and telling time; present tense conjugation of common verbs pertinent to business and travel.
- Demonstrate correct Spanish pronunciation, even of unfamiliar words
- Demonstrate knowledge of basic vocabulary related to both business and business travel: telephone etiquette and introductions; scheduling appointments and reservations; navigating transportation and checking into hotels; dining with clients; participating in meetings- discussing data, costs, timelines, problems, and polite requests and commands; describing products and making business presentations.
- Express needs and wants, understand schedules, make introductions and basic small talk, navigate transportation and travel, order food in a restaurant, present data, costs, and timelines, ask basic questions in a business meeting, and give a brief product description in the form of a business presentation
- Express an understanding of some cultural aspects of conducting business in Spanish-speaking countries.

Students are expected to:- Attend a minimum of 8 2-hour classes
