Course Description

This is a blended class with instructor-led coaching and self-paced online learning, you will need to plan at least 5 hours per week for self-directed learning. This class includes the following products for version CS0-003: CompTIA CertMaster Learn, CertMaster Labs, CertMaster Practice, and the exam voucher. The prerequisites for this class are Network+ and Security+, or equivalent knowledge.

Target Audience:
This class is recommended for individuals who are interested in pursuing a career in cybersecurity, particularly in roles that involve monitoring and responding to security incidents within an organization's network and systems. CompTIA CySA+ is an intermediate-level certification recommended for IT professionals with a foundational knowledge of cybersecurity. 

Occupational Outlook:
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics (BLS) reported that employment of information security analysts is projected to grow 32 percent from 2022 to 2032, much faster than the average for all occupations. Information security analysts typically need a bachelor’s degree in a computer science field, along with related work experience. Employers may prefer to hire analysts who have professional certification.

The median annual wage for information security analysts was $112,000 in May 2022.

Information Technology Continuing Education Certificate: 
A certificate of completion for the class will be issued to participants with at least 80% attendance, class participation, and completion of hands-on practice and projects.

Industry Certification:
With a CompTIA CySA+ certification, you'll be prepared for roles such as Security Analyst, Security Operations Center (SOC) Analyst, Vulnerability Analyst, Threat Hunter, Threat Intelligence Analyst, Security Architect, and Cybersecurity Engineer.

Method of Instruction: 
Lecture with demonstration, discussion, hands-on exercises, and problem-solving. May have outside assignments.

Evaluation:
Participation in class discussions and completion of skill practices in and outside of the classroom is expected. 

Prerequisites

  • ITS-7512 CompTIA Netwok+
  • ITS-7522 CompTIA Security+ 

The above classes can be overridden based on evidence of equivalent knowledge and experience.

Resources: Access to a Windows-based computer and reliable internet is required as well as a camera, a headset, and preferably dual monitors.
