Course Description

Leader of Others is a leadership experience for supervisors/managers that blends virtual meetings with self-paced online focused learning in a 6-week course. Leaders explore four leadership styles in the SLII® approach including specific ways to recognize development levels of employees and match the appropriate leadership style to their employees’ development levels.  These foundational skills will help leaders increase the quality of conversations with their team members, accelerate their potential development, increase their performance, and support their autonomy.   The ability of an SLII® leader to adapt by providing the right type of feedback builds team members’ competence, confidence, and motivation toward reaching their goal.

Learner Outcomes

By the end of the Leader of Others course, participants will be able to 
•    Evaluate Goals using SMART criteria
•    Plan a goal setting conversation 
•    Assess their strengths and opportunities regarding their natural Leadership Style tendencies
•    Recognize characteristics of four development levels of employees
•    Recognize characteristics of four leadership styles and practice matching leadership styles to development levels 
•    Describe Alignment using SLII® in One-on-One Conversations
•    Describe the four Elements of Trust 
•    Describe an approach for Restoring Trust if it has been broken  
 

Notes

Format: Each week includes 60 – 75 minutes of self-paced study with online modules and a 1-hour live instructor-led virtual class meeting.  Online modules include self-assessments, videos, interactive exercises, quizzes, practice activities that can be used in real work situations, and optional resources (playlist) for more information on key topics if needed.
