Course Description

This training is intended to provide the students with information about their rights, employer responsibilities, and how to file a complaint as well as how to identify, abate, avoid, and prevent job related hazards on a job site. The training covers a variety of health hazards at a work site and with emphasizes hazard identification, avoidance, control, and prevention. 

Course Outline

1.  Introduction to OSHA as it pertains to walking and working in particular surfaces, exit routes, emergency action plans, fire prevention plans, and fire protection,                 hazards.          

2.  Explain why OSHA is important to workers

3. Explain worker rights under OSHA.

4.  Students will be able to explain the importance of OSHA in providing a safe and healthful workplace to workers covered by OSHA. 

  

 

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the following objectives will be completed:

1. Students will be able to discuss employer responsibilities under OSHA.
2. Students will be able to discuss the use of OSHA standards.
3. Students will be able to explain how OSHA inspections are conducted.
4. Students will learn how to utilize helpful worker safety and health resources.
