Course Description
In today’s technologically oriented economy, it’s no surprise that employees with strong computer skills fare better in the job market than their technology-challenged counterparts. Digital Literacy is one of the most important skills required in the workforce today. In this class, you will be introduced to computer concepts like the web, e-commerce, software and apps, digital media, digital communication, and security and safety. You will learn to use Windows, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. In the end, we will discuss aspects of career readiness, resume assistance by LinkedIn, portfolio, and certification. This class covers all the basic technological skills that drastically help increase productivity within the office and school environment.

Notes
Target Audience: This class is recommended for people new to technology who want to obtain basic computer skills to advance their career or education. People who are new to the MS Office Suite or have been using an older version can also benefit from this training.
Instruction Method: This class is hands-on, self-paced, and online with virtual and email support (M - F, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.). The class includes due date markers to help you stay on track and complete your training on time. You will learn with readings, videos, hands-on exercises, and projects.
Evaluation: Hands-on exercises, and project submission.
Prerequisites
Basic Computer Skills: Participants must know basic typing, downloading, and account creation.
Resources: This class requires access to the Internet and a Windows-based computer.
