Course Description

To provide a basic review of coding concepts, coding guidelines and provide test-taking strategies in preparation for taking the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam.

Course Outline

Exam review class includes in-person instruction by an AAPC - Approved Instructor using the AAPC's curriculum. Attendees will receive test-taking tips in preparation to sit for the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam. Completion of foundational coding courses (e.g., diagnostic or procedural coding), medical terminology, and anatomy and physiology are strongly recommended. Professionals with no medical coding education should not register for this class.

Learner Outcomes

Students will learn how to use the process of elimination, time management and critical thinking to successfully pass the Certified Professional Coder (CPC) exam.

Prerequisites

Must have passed CE Advanced Coding (HEA-HEA7291) or have completed the CU MOA program.
