Course Description

This class will explore all of the necessary investigative requirements for conducting a comprehensive suicide investigation.

1. Discussions on the various rasons people commit suicide.

2. Case studies will be used to support suicide investigative procedures amd requirements.

Course Outline

This course will cover the following topics;

1.  The requirements for scene processing and evaluation.

2. The importance of identifying and documenting all indications of intent on the part of the decedent and devlopng motive will be discussed.

3. Current suicide statistics will be shared to highlight mational trends.

 

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion,

1. Students will learn about common methods of suicide and causes for family denial.

2. Students will be able to explain the primary psychologica; disorders associated with suicide.

3. Students will learn the components of a phychological autopsy and it can be in investigations.
