SEF-STA7000 - Summer Theatre Academy

Course Description

Central Piedmont’s 2025 Summer Theatre Academy is a unique, accessible, high-quality theater experience for high school and college students in the Charlotte area.  The Academy will use a central production concept to provide students with a comprehensive theater experience during the summer break.  The Summer Theatre Academy will foster creativity, teamwork, and confidence in young performers.  This program will also offer specialized training in acting, stagecraft, and other theater-related skills. This innovative educational approach specializes in workshops focused on niche aspects of theater, such as stage combat, puppetry, immersive theater, dialect coaching, or technical theater specialties like lighting design and sound engineering.  By the end of the Summer Academy, students will experience the multiple components of creating a musical extravaganza, featuring catchy songs and dynamic dance numbers.
