Course Description

This course provides students with the necessary knowledge and skills needed to take the Federal Aviation Administration’s (FAA) written exam to satisfy the ground school requirements of the private pilot license. Topics will include aerodynamics, weight and balance, weather, filing a flight plan, instruments, engines, and systems as well as Federal Aviation Regulations (FARs). The medical requirements to obtain a pilot’s license will be discussed.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of the private pilot ground school, students will have gained the knowledge needed to take the FAA’s written exam to satisfy the ground school requirements for a private pilot license.

Notes

The course with consist of classroom lectures and field trips to Goose Creek Airport to reinforce classroom learning.
