The Community Health Worker course will provide individuals with the knowledge, tools, and resources to become Community Health Workers (CHW) in various settings, including health departments, hospitals, and faith-based organizations. Instructions are designed to cover core competencies essential to working as a certified CHW, including communication, capacity building, service coordination, interpersonal advocacy, outreach, and personal/professional skills.

Course Outline

Community Health Workers (CHW) are trusted members of the community who assist individuals and communities in adopting healthy behaviors. This class will focus on fundamental skills and knowledge CHW’s need to demonstrate proficient in mastering the nine core competencies.
