Course Description
This 16-hour training class is designed for Detectives and Investigators, patrol officers, firefighters, and First Responders who have interest or experience with Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. It will also be good for Police Command Staff to look into the future. The class is geared for those flying UAV’s or departments that are considering them. The class introduces all the facts involving drone cameras, software needed and technology. This is an Intermediate level drone aerial reconnaissance course. The course will provide details on utilizing a drone to take precise aerial photos and collect location data of structures and terrain. The class will provide an overview of drone data processing software and software processing of the drone data.
With maps as a crucial part of their job, there is no doubt that drone photogrammetry can be helpful to their profession. Surveyors can obtain a highly accurate map with photogrammetry that can easily be turned into a 3D topographic map with contour data—a process that used to be extremely tedious.

Upon completion of this course, the student will be able to accomplish the following:
- Have an understanding of the uses and objectives for crime scene diagramming with drones.

- Understand the basics with GIS and aerial diagrams.
- Be aware of the advantages of aerial photography and cinematography.
Notes
Method of Instruction-In-class instruction via power points, audio and video links via internet, hands on practice flying drones and review of software related to diagrams.

Exam: Pre-Assessment and final test
Prerequisites
Experience with DJI drones will be an advantage
