Course Description

This 24 hour course is designed to introduce a number of general topics related to basic drones flight, aerial forensics and drone technology.  This course will cover drone history, aviation law and regulations, flight mechanics, airspace, meteorology, pre and post flight operation, piloting skill, software application, photogrammetry, organizational utilization, and safety.  This specialized course is geared towards educating individuals on how the use of drones can enhance and simplify means of combating criminal activity. At its end, this course will prognosticate the outlook of future technological advances of aerial forensics and drone science.

 

Course Outline

-An understanding of drone history.

-A basic comprehension of aviation law and regulations.

-A comprehensive knowledge of flight mechanics.

-A basic knowledge of airspace and meteorology.

-A thorough knowledge of pre & post flight operation.

-A comprehensive understanding of software application using Apple IOS & Android technology.

-A working understanding of photogrammetry via drone telemetry & photo/video editing application.

-Knowledge of organizational use.

-A comprehensive understanding of pilot safety.

Discussions on Federal Aviation Administration Regulations (Part 107), Historical Content, Relative Costs,

Quadcopter/UAVs, Entry/Intermediate/Professional Level Drones, Airspace, Weather, Weight & Balance, Photography, & Videography

Demo flights with various types of drones.

 

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course, the student will have attained the following anatomical skills:

-A basic knowledge of airspace and meteorology

-A thorough knowledge of pre & post flight operation
