Course Description
This course provides students with a hands-on approach to recognizing, interpreting, and recovering homicide evidence for the homicide investigator. Students will use knowledge obtained from previous investigative courses to; develop evidence at a mock crime scene; use digital cameras to photograph physical evidence in a mock crime scene; recover evidence developed at the scene; prepare a crime scene insert for the investigative report; determine which items of evidence recovered from the scene requires laboratory examination, and prepare request forms; develop list of suspects based on evidence; interview and interrogate suspects; prepare an investigative report; present courtroom testimony in mock court.
