Course Description
This course is designed to enhance the skill set of criminal investigators relative to using internet based tools. Students will be introduced to various internet crimes as well as traditional crimes that are facilitated among the internet. An introduction to investigative tactics for various types of cyber crime will include: fraud, identity theft, hacking, piracy, child exploitation, email, illegal drugs and narcotics crimes, domestic and international terrorism, stalking, money laundering and financial crimes. It also covers the use of Google, internet research services, website tools, and capturing videos. This course also touches on software clients on cell phones that access the internet and are being used by criminals.
