Course Description
This 40 hour online training class is designed for experienced Detectives and Investigators, new police officers and First Responders. The class introduces the characteristics of firearms injury and the types of bullet and GSR evidence along with how it is found at different crime scenes. The collection and identification of this evidence is covered in the class along with unique case histories that will re-enforce the experienced investigator on what is needed to improve on the investigation and what may be missed in making a good criminal case.Course Outline

Learner Outcomes
Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to complete the following:
- Have an understanding of basic wound ballistics and types of firearm injury
- Discuss in detail, the features of gunshot entrance and exit wounds
- Understand the types of wounds related to different types of weapons
- Be introduced to crime scenes involving blood, different weapons and the evidence collected
- Be able to recognize wound patterns, gunshot residue and the science behind it
