Course Description

This 40-hour online training class is designed for experienced Detectives and Investigators, new police officers, and First Responders.  The class introduces all the facts and evidentiary features related to strangulation cases. The collection and identification of evidence is covered in the class along with what techniques and steps the experienced investigator needs to take in dealing with strangulation cases and what may be missed in making a good criminal case.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to complete the following:

  • Better understanding of basic strangulation and hanging investigation
  • Discuss in detail, the evidence involved in these cases
  • Understand the causes, styles and background information with strangulation
  • Be introduced to ligature evidence, patterns and the reasons for them
  • Be able to perform better in court due to the issues discussed in this course
