Course Description

This online class is designed to familiarize the crime scene detective and technician with the courtroom testimony for crime scene photography. Students learned the basic camera elements and functions in Part 1 of Crime Scene Photography and Part 2 covered the specifics for photographing different crime scenes. Part 3 will cover information needed for courtroom testimony and everything from metadata to memory cards.

Learner Outcomes

Upon successful completion of this course, the student will be able to complete the following:

  • Successfully testify in court relative to photography type evidence
  • More knowledgeable with the issues involving camera authentication, resolution and memory cards typically use
  • Learn the tips with testimony and admissible evidence related to crime scene photos
  • Learn what techniques are needed for Patrol Officers to improve their photography use and evidence photos.

Prerequisites

  • This course is being offered to sworn Law Enforcement Officers or individuals associated with a law enforcement agency only.

Students must have completed the following:

  • FRN 7907 - Crime Scene Photography - Part 1
  • FRN 7908 - Crime Scene Photography - Part 2
