Course Description

This 32-hour online training class is designed for Detectives and Investigators, patrol officers, new police officers, and First Responders.  It will also be good for Police Command Staff to look into the future. The class introduces all the facts, laws, history and evidentary features related to the use of unmanned aerial vehicles by law enforcement. The current state and federal laws along with the challenges facing the FAA relative to the increase in drone activity is also covered. Advantages and disadvantages, search warrant issues and surveillance are explained in this course. Camera’s and technology explain the advances made recently. This unique online class gives a special look into the future in law enforcement. Main modules will cover history of drones, current police drones, other agencies and other uses by fire, weather, health care, delivery, insurance and first responders to name a few.
