Description:

This Banking Services Certificate provides the essential knowledge needed to start or advance your career in retail banking.  The course includes fundamental banking concepts and principles, the basics of how banks operate as service providers and businesses, their obligation to operate in a safe and sound manner and manage risk, and the responsibilities of bank employees in a customer-focused financial services environment. The Notary section of this course covers the statues that regulate the acts of NC notaries. The purpose is for applicants to become qualified candidates for the highly in-demand Notary Public commission.

9) Building Relationships, Marketing, Sales, and Customer Service

10) Safeguarding Customers and the Bank

11) Notary

 

Learner Outcomes

Students will learn:

1) The role of Banks in the US economy

2) How to meet the changing needs of customers

3) About Bank products and services, including electronic banking

4) The importance of building customer relationships

5) Major banking laws and regulations

6) NC statues to obtain a NC Notary commission

 

Notes

Method of Instruction: Lecture

Evaluation: 1) Banking Services Representative Exam - Minimum 75% 2) Notary Public Exam - Minimum 80%

Textbook is required

 

Prerequisites

Prerequisites: For Notary Public Commission, students must meet the NC Secretary of State eligibility requirements.

The Notary Public section of your course will take place on April 14th & 16th. Class will meet 6 - 9:30 pm.
