Course Description

This course covers the theory of refrigeration and heating, electrical/electronic/pneumatic controls, and diagnosis and repair of climate control systems.                      Topics include diagnosis and repair of climate control components and systems, recovery/recycling of refrigerants, and safety and environmental regulations.
Upon completion, students should be able to diagnose and repair vehicle climate control systems.

1. Theory of refrigeration and heating

3. Recovery/recycling of refrigerants
4. Discuss the safety and environmental regulations

Learner Outcomes

Students will be able to perform the following tasks:

  • Inspect and evaluate refrigeration and heating systems
  • Diagnose and repair climate control systems
  • Demonstrate the proper recovery/recycling of refrigerants
  • understand the federal and state safety and environmental regulations
  • Pass practice tests given for MACS Association 609 Certification Training

Notes

Evaluation:  Hands on training along with both assignments and tests will verify that the student has grasped the knowledge and proficiency of the course content and the objectives.
