Course Description

This course defines situational awareness and its implications on the emergency scene. The challenges of transforming from mid-level supervisor to an executive officer will be explained. Multi-Generational management will be explained with strategies to address management of each generational workforce sector.

Learner Outcomes

The Chief Officer or prospective Chief Officer will be exposed to the transition process to Chief Officer, Community Risk Reduction, Fire Officer- Human Resources, Multi-Generational Management, Dealing with City Managers and Politicians, Strategic Planning, Higher Education/ Career Development.

Method of Instruction: Lecture, Case Studies and Group Activities

Evaluation: The standard Central Piedmont Class Evaluation Form will be used as a measurement of the class.  The form will gauge the participant's usefulness of the information provided within the program.
