Course Description

This course targets those individuals who have leadership, management, and supervisory responsibility for the organization's training function. Topics addressed in the program are: managing delivery, design and development, program evaluation, financial management, legal issues and risk management, personnel management, training facility design, maintenance, planning, alternative learning, external relations, and strategic leadership in training.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course the students will be able to develop possible solutions to logistical problems, scheduling, workload and facility use problems/ conflicts. The students will be able to analyze and evaluate the effectiveness of training programs. The students will be able to identify the level of compliance with respect to legislation, standards, and regulations. They will be able to identify and describe the various federal, state, and local regulations as they relate to their organization.

Evaluation: Written Exam (70% minimum score)

Prerequisites

The North Carolina Association of Fire Chiefs require two prerequisite for admission to this class.
