Course Description

The Flight Paramedic - Certification (FP-C) Exam Prep / Critical Care Refresher Course is a 36 hour on-line course designed to assist participants in preparing for the FP-C examination, as well as serving as a refresher course for current CCEMTP providers.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion of this course the student will be able to:

Discuss Safety Issues associated with Flight Medicine
Discuss Flight Physiology
Recognize and stressors associated with Flight Medicine
Understand all CAMTS policies
Perform advanced airway management techniques such as Rapid Sequence Induction, Surgical Cricothyroidotomy
Understand principals of acid-base balance
Understand and treat Obstetrical Emergencies
Understand and treat traumatic injury, including thoracic injuries and illness
Understand and treat respiratory illness
Understand and treat neurological illness and events such as CVA, head injuries, etc.
Demonstrate knowledge of cardiovascular disease and anomalies, including 12 Lead EKG, cardiac anatomy and physiology and management of advanced monitoring equipment
Demonstrate knowledge of Pediatric and Neonatal resuscitation, pediatric assessment, care and treatment of injury and illness, physiological differences between adult patients and Isollette use
