EMS-EMT7328 - EMT Technical Scope of Practice Testing

Course Description

This course will be utilized to comply with the North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services mandate concerning an EMT's required scope of practice evaluation. This evaluation must be conducted in the last year of an EMT's certification prior to the state renewing an EMT's credential.

North Carolina Office of Emergency Medical Services and the North Carolina Medical Care Commission Rule # 10A NCAC 13P.

Learner Outcomes

The student will be able to integrate at their level of education the principles of assessment-based management to perform an appropriate assessment and implement the management plan for patients with common problems. These problems will include chest pain, shortness of breath, cardiac arrest, altered mental status, musculoskeletal injuries and allergic reaction.
