Course Description

AutoCAD is a computer-aided design software used in many industries, including architecture, engineering, construction, and interior design. CAD allows users to create more accurate design representations. CAD replaced manual design drafting, allowing design development, alteration, and optimization. It enables users to craft more precise designs and manipulate them virtually, and it can also calculate how multiple materials relate. Increase your marketability and productivity in manufacturing and design by learning AutoCAD. With advanced training, you could also draw and edit digital 2D and 3D designs to be used in visualization and technical documentation.

Course Outline

AutoCAD Basic covers the essential core topics for working with AutoCAD. Here you start with a few basic tools that enable you to create and edit a simple drawing and then continue to develop those tools. More advanced tools are also introduced throughout the course.

Not every command or option is covered because the intent is to show the most essential tools and concepts, such as:

  • Understanding the AutoCAD workspace and user interface.
  • Using basic drawing, editing, and viewing tools.
  • Organizing drawing objects on layers.
  • Inserting reusable symbols (blocks).
  • Preparing a layout to be plotted.
  • Adding text, hatching, and dimensions.

AutoCAD Advanced continues with more sophisticated techniques that extend your mastery of the program.

Learner Outcomes

In this class, you will:

  • Create and edit a simple drawing and then continue to develop it into more advanced tools.
  • Extend your mastery of the program, by creating blocks and setting up templates.

Notes
