Course Description

This course is required for individuals seeking a Life Insurance sales license. Course content will cover the types of individual life insurance; annuities; policy provisions, opt ins and various features; life insurance topics and North Carolina statutes and regulations pertinent to life insurance. Upon successful completion (75% or higher), students will be eligible to sit for the state Life Insurance Agent Examination. Students seeking a sales license must attend 100% of the classes.

Learner Outcomes

Upon completion students should be able to discuss and explain the various lines for Life Insurance such as; Whole Life, Term, Endowment, combination policies and basic forms, and Non-traditional. Students should also be able to interpret the regulations and laws specifically applying to Life Insurance agents and
discuss the forms for various types of insurance.

Evaluation - Final Exam

This class requires 100% attendance. Student must pass an in class exam with a score of at least 80%.

Textbook is required for this class and must be purchased for the college bookstore.
