Course Description
Learn the power of Excel as you begin your career in data analytics and become a master of the tool. This course teaches you the skills required to take the Microsoft Office Excel Specialist industry certification. The MOS certification demonstrates to employees your competency in the fundamentals of creating and managing worksheets and workbooks, creating cells and ranges, creating tables, applying formulas and functions, and creating charts and objects. As a bonus, you will also learn Pivot Tables and Macros which are part of the Expert Certification.

Target Audience: This class is intended for anybody needing to organize data, create graphics and charts to communicate data, analyze and forecast data, and automate processes using basic and complex mathematical functions.
Instruction Method: Lecture with demonstration, discussion, hands-on exercises, problem-solving, and projects. For self-paced sessions, the instruction is with reading, videos, simulations, and hands-on projects.
Evaluation: Participation and completion of skill practices are expected. For classroom or hybrid classes, class attendance is required for successful completion.
Information Technology Continuing Education Certificate: This course is part of the Business Data Analytics Certificate. Certificates are awarded with the completion of all required courses (no substitutions). A certificate of completion for the class will be issued to participants with at least 80% attendance, class participation, and completion of hands-on practice and projects.
Industry Certification: Completing the Excel Specialist class will prepare you to take the Microsoft Office Specialist Excel Exam.
Prerequisites
Basic Computer Skills: Participants must know basic typing, windows filing, internet browsing, downloading, and account creation.
Resources: This class requires access to the Internet and a Windows-based computer.
