This course is a continuation of basic and intermediate coding. It will provide in-depth coverage of ICD-10-CM and CPT coding.

Learner Outcomes

  • Demonstrate compliance with ICD-10-CM and CPT rules and regulations and code accurately.
  • List appropriate uses of V codes and E codes.
  • List components of E&M code assignment.
  • Compare criteria between a consultation and a referral.
  • Recognize common guidelines to complete standard forms.
  • List multiple mechanisms of reimbursement
  • Explain the accounts receivable process
  • Demonstrate knowledge of codes for body systems as well as primary care, general surgery and anesthesia.
