Course Description

This course covers the theory and repair of braking systems used in medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
Topics include air, hydraulic, and ABS system diagnosis and repair. Upon completion, students should be
able to troubleshoot, adjust, and repair braking systems on medium and heavy-duty vehicles.

Course Outline

This class will utilize assignments and tests to asses the knowledge of course content and objectives. Hands on training by the student will be used tto identify and explain content materials. Instructor will often assign grades to assignments and can also create assignments for students or groups.

Learner Outcomes

Student will be able to explain the braking fundamentals and air brake foundations
Student will describe air brake circuits and valves
Student will demonstrate the ability to service air brake air systems
Student will define servicing air brake foundation and parking brake systems
Student will identify antilock braking, vehicle stability, and collision avoidance systems
