Course Description

This course will help you enjoy the rewards that come from doing what really makes you happy! It will help you begin designing a life that really works for you. With a complete understanding of your own interests, values, needs and abilities, you'll learn how you can use work to express yourself and share your interests and talents. Your every day will be filled with joy and inspiration, and a greater depth of meaning will be added to everything you do. This course is skillfully crafted to weave experiential learning with the conceptual presentation, giving you time to experience, understand, and implement each new strategy as it is introduced.

Course Outline

Lesson 01 - Introduction of Listen to Your Heart and Success Will Follow Concepts

  • This lesson is an introduction into the concept that you can take control of your life and reinvent a lifestyle that's more enjoyable, balanced, and productive. You'll get a taste of the powerful tools, strategies, systems, and solutions that will help guide you toward discovering, creating, and implementing your heartfelt desires. This will be your inspiration to begin creating a life you'll love!

Lesson 02 - Key #1: Accept That You Must Let Go of Your Past

  • This lesson will address the first key toward happiness, which is letting go of the past. It will discuss how to accept change and turn it into an opportunity by learning how to take control of your life. You'll learn strategies for how to cope with the stress and anxiety that change brings and then go over some tips you can use to guide you in establishing new boundaries and how to honor them.

Lesson 03 - Key #2: Take a Close Look at Your Previous Endeavors

  • In this lesson, you'll examine what choices you've made in the past, particularly in regard to lifestyle, relationships, and career. You'll evaluate these choices and see what worked, what didn't work, and what you would like to have happened.

Lesson 04 - Key #3: Get to Know Yourself Really Well

  • This lesson could be a turning point for you because it's all about getting to know yourself really well. Once you can get clear about who you are (your skills, aptitudes, gifts, talents, passions, desires, needs, and values), you'll be able to strengthen your personal foundation and thus design a high-quality life.

Lesson 05 - Key #4: Align Your Head With Your Heart

  • In this lesson, you'll begin finding your way to a place where your head is in harmony with your heart. This place is built upon the solid foundation of your values, special skills, and unique gifts. You'll tap into your imagination faculties to start creating whatever your heart desires and discover how to separate yourself from the "mind-stuff" that keeps you blocked from achieving your dreams.

Lesson 06 - How to Get What You Really Want

  • This lesson is about goal setting. Many people have goals but aren't able to manifest them. There's a good reason for that, and this lesson will teach you what you need to do achieve your goals and turn them into realities. You deserve to be happy in all areas of your life, and this lesson is the next step in getting there!

Lesson 07 - Key #5: Enjoy the Journey

  • In this lesson, you'll explore some tools and strategies you can use to help overcome your fears. Although being fearful is natural, it can also be debilitating; fear causes many people to live unfulfilling lives. By the time, you finish this lesson, you'll understand how to keep fear from preventing you from designing your life to be everything you want it to be.

Lesson 08 - Build a Community That Supports Your Well-Being

  • Everyone longs for a heartfelt kind of connection that gives them a sense of belonging—a desire to be seen and heard by others, to know that they matter, to know that someone is on their side, and to feel a connection that touches the heart and makes them feel grateful for someone's presence. This lesson will focus on the idea that the people you spend time with need to support your well-being.

Lesson 09 - Life 101 - Suggestions for a Happier Life

  • "Lighten up!" That's what this lesson is all about. You don't always have to be serious. When was the last time you had a really good laugh? When was the last time you laughed at yourself? This lesson will discuss the importance of humor. You'll go over the steps to reducing the frustrations that develop from too much stress. The lesson will talk about the value of meditation, time management, and how to create your own health team.

Lesson 10 - Everyone Is Self-Employed

  • This lesson will talk about the key to working happily. It's also the key to becoming a more valued employee. An important concept to accept is that everyone is really self-employed—they're all responsible for their own personal development. This lesson will guide you toward achieving new skills that will help you rise above the pack.

Lesson 11 - When Change Is Inevitable

  • Sometimes, you need to find a new job in order to be happy. If this is your situation, there are some things you can do to make the process more effective and increase the possibility you'll find the work you want. Once you've completed the exercises in this class and you've spent some time reflecting about what you really want from your work, you'll be ready to take a proactive approach to finding the ideal job. This lesson will assist you with that process.

Lesson 12 - Your New Life

  • By taking this course, you'll be setting in motion a new way of living. You'll start to notice that the quality of your life improves dramatically as you spend your time and energy on what really matters to you. Your confidence will increase, peace of mind will take over, and you'll feel empowered to live life on your own terms. This lesson will inspire you to get started now and live the life you were meant to be living!

Notes

This is an asynchronous online course offered through the third party vendor ed2go. This course can be taken on either a PC, Mac, or Chromebook. The instructional materials required for this course are included in enrollment and will be available online. There are twelve lessons in the course, and two lessons are released each week on Wednesdays and Fridays. You do not have to be present when lessons are released. You will have access to all lessons until the course ends. However, the interactive discussion area that accompanies each lesson will automatically close two weeks after the lesson is released. As such, we strongly recommend that you complete each lesson within two weeks of its release. The final exam will be released on the same day as the last lesson. Once the final exam has been released, you will have two weeks to complete all of your coursework, including the final exam.
